The Bruins pulled out the win in a pretty un-entertaining game. It definitely did not have the feel of a Bruins Canadiens game, but then again the Bruins were without Lucic who brings it every game. While the score was 3-2, the Canadiens were never really in the game. Both of their goals came off plays where you were dozing off to sleep and then boom the Canadiens scored a weak goal. Other than their two goals they really had no other scoring chances aside from their 3 on 1 chance in the 2nd. Marshmont found the net on a pretty pass from Seguin who played hard the entire night. We’ll take the two points and move on with our lives. On a side note I was very unimpressed with Jack Edwards. I guess everyone in the Bruins organization decided to take the night off tonight. He did have a great Jack Edwards moment on the first goal stating “when this Bruins team smells blood in the water, they go straight for the jugular”. If that guy put as much effort into brushing his teeth as he did in his commentating he’d be calling every major sporting event in America. Theres a reason they only show his face two times a game and that’s even two times too many. Bruins are off to play the Panthers on Friday, and if they show up and play like they did tonight, they will not be as fortunate.
Bruins Habs Update
So this game has been like watching paint dry. There is no emotion at all and you expect that out of a last place team but not a Bruins team who is playing at home against their biggest rival. Theres no hitting, terrible passing, and nobody looks like they want to be there especially Chara who just stood there and watched the puck go between his legs. Luckily for the Bruins, Montreal is not good and they are missing key players as well, so being tied 1-1 after the first is nothing to worry about. Hopefully Claude throws Thornton out there for the opening faceoff to drop the gloves and give the team a little spark and the fans something to cheer about.
B’s and Habs Tonight
So the Bruins and Canadiens face off again tonight at the Garden. This time there’s no Lucic. He got suspended for a questionable hit in the Flyers game Saturday. It seemed he hit him from the side and his follow through pushed him in an awkward position but either way he’s supsended. Whatever. The only way Montreal has a chance tonight is if every player on the Bruins gets a game misconduct for boarding within the first 5 minutes of the game or if Montreal signs Tim Tebow within the next two hours. You have the hottest team in the NHL who just made the then first place Flyers look like the NHL’s version of the Colts this year. Tonight could be a replay of Saturday. The Bruins have scored nearly 50 more goals than they’ve given up this year which is ridiculous and everything seems to be clicking right now. Look for Jack Edwards to have about 20 orgasms and Brick to talk about P.K. Subban and his diving as your highlights of tonight’s game. I’m thinking it’s Bruins early and often putting up 2 or 3 in the 1st and not looking back. Expect a physical game from Chara and for Nose Face Killah to get under the Habs skin and put in a goal or two. Final score Bruins 5 Canadiens 1.
Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow finally was brought back down to earth on Sunday (maybe not actually in his mind) when his Broncos were beaten by the Pats 41-23. Yeah yeah Saturday Night Live called it, Jesus wasn’t going to be in Denver Sunday to save Tebow but it wasn’t even Tebow that needed the help. It was Von Miller and his defense. Tebow played pretty solid, aside from his turnover on a poor read. He accounted for 2 rushing touchdowns, both on which he needed to bowl through defenders to get to the endzone. Plain and simple the guy is good and hey, he will probably even make the Pro Bowl in a season in which he didn’t play the first 5 games. Granted, the AFC doesn’t really have many great quarterbacks aside from Tom Brady. You have to think with what he has accomplished bringing his team to victory in 7 of his 9 starts, 6 of which in unlikely fashion he at least deserves consideration. He is throwing the ball (when he actually has to throw) to guys who probably would be on the practice squad on many of the other teams in the league. Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas are his top two and while they have some skill they certainly aren’t a great supporting cast for Tebow.
My prediction is that the Broncos go in to Buffalo next week and throw up a 40berger on them. The Bills let Reggie Bush run for 200 yards on them last week. Yes, 200 yards. I think Tebow might go for about 100 on the ground and add another 200 in the air combined with 3 TD’s. The Bills and Ryan Fitzpatricks disgusting beard have packed it in this season, I mean its hard to go forward after you win the Super Bowl in September (Bills 34 Patriots 31). With that I believe if my math is correct the Broncos would clinch the AFC West as they have the tiebreaker over the Chargers and Oakland who are both a game back. I can tell you the Broncos will be a scary team in the playoffs, especially since Jesus is free every day after Christmas.
